History of Fiat 2400 Dino Coupé
The Fiat Dino is a sports coupé that was introduced by Fiat in 1966 on the occasion of the hundredth birthday of the company's founder, Giovanni Agnelli. It replaced the Fiat 2300 Coupé and was built in 2 variants, as a coupé designed by Bertone and as a spider drawn by Pininfarina. The special feature of the Fiat 2400 Dino is that, for the first and only time, a motor developed and built by Ferrari was installed in a series-production Fiat. This Ferrari engine was also used in the Ferrari 246 and the Lancia Stratos. Furthermore, this Fiat was equipped with fine sporty accessories, such as a 5-speed transmission from ZF, an excellent sport-tuned chassis, a very good braking system with disc brakes all around, and a limited-slip differential. The interior is luxurious and designed in a bold color mix typical of the 70s. The Dino represents a perfect blend of sportiness and comfort. A fantastic 2 + 2 coupé from Fiat. Unfortunately, despite good facilities, very respectable test results, and its undisputed sporting talents, only 2,398 buyers were found during the short production period (Dino 2400 Coupé). For a company like Fiat, this was probably too few, which is why production was discontinued in 1972 without presenting a successor. It is surprising, especially since this Fiat was included in the elite club of 200 km/h fast cars in 1970.
Vita of the Fiat 2400 DINO offered here
This vehicle was imported by Scuderia Sportiva Colonia from Sweden.Apparently, this is a Swedish first registration, and we suspect there are only four previous owners in total. In 2015, the company Scuderia Sportiva Colonia discovered this Fiat in Sweden and imported it. The car was a bit "crispy," repainted in red, and the interior was in a miserable condition. Only the engine and transmission were surprisingly good. Therefore, Scuderia Sportiva Colonia decided to completely overhaul the body and repaint it in its original delivery color "Nocciola." Similarly, with the help of an Italian specialist, the original material for the interior was purchased, and with the assistance of Ballas in Cologne, the interior was rebuilt to its original specifications. A wooden steering wheel with Dino emblem was ordered from Nardi. The engine and transmission were resealed, the electrical system was restored, the chassis and braking system were restored, and a new exhaust system was installed. The tires were also renewed. In short: a ready-to-start, very elegant and sporty Fiat Dino 2400 Coupé in perfect condition awaits its new owner. General This offer is non-binding and subject to prior sale.
