The Ultima Can Am Spider doesn't just sit there when it appears to be parked.

It lurks.

7011 cubic centimeters of displacement – a number that should be spoken with reverence. (We know holiday apartments whose living space is hardly larger...) Plus 580 HP with a combat weight of 850 kilograms. This is applied border physics with a license plate and a rolling proof that reason, if at all, only appears in the fine print on the last page of the specifications.

Accelerating feels like opening a main valve in a power plant: nothing gentle, nothing half-hearted, but immediately a lot of everything.
By immediately, we mean immediately.
On the spot and without the slightest delay. In this power vehicle, you take your seat with a mixture of anticipation and quiet self-assessment. Because this Ultima is not a car that panders or explains.
It demands respect, and immediately. And always.
The gas pedal knows no irony, the steering wheel no small talk. Every movement is executed without comment, and those who act inattentively here do not receive a pedagogical feedback to take home as homework, but an immediate lesson in inertia moments in longitudinal and transverse dynamics.

The humor of this vehicle is dry British: street approval yes – but only for people who know what they are doing. Testing the physical limits is less an invitation than a warning. This is reserved for those whoTalent, experience, and above all, humility. And here, no smirking is in order - this automobile bears officially assigned license plates. It's roughly like being allowed to fly to the bakery in a fighter jet, provided you signal.
Because the Ultima GTR Can Am Spider leaves nothing to be desired, but offers everything: a performance that even seasoned racing drivers quietly marvel at, and a driving experience with the realization that you will never truly "master" this vehicle, but at best survive it - then with a broad grin and trembling knees. And not alternately, but always in combination. Pushing the limits of this vehicle is not a leisure activity, but a discipline for highly talented drivers who, besides experience and self-control, bring one thing above all.

Respect.

It cannot be repeated often enough. Respect!

In short: the Ultima GTR Can Am Spider is not a car for years of cultivated vanity. It is magnificent, uncompromising - and only truly enjoyable when you know you will never really be able to handle it. A kind of mobile boundary and a 24/7 reminder that this performance demands humility.

Look at the preliminary photo gallery, the screenshot of the place where the Ultima, on the home track of the Top Gear team with Stig at the wheel, pulverized the lap times of all hypercars like Koenigsegg CXX, Pagani Zonda F, Maserati MC12, Ferrari Enzo FXX, Porsche Carrera GT, and so on, with an initial lap time of 1:12.8 on street tires (the Porsche Carrera GT needed about 7 seconds more with the same driver... we hardly need to explain to connoisseurs what 7 seconds on a track like the one at TopGear mean...).

Soon after, Michael Schumacher's Ferrari FXX with pure semi-slicks managed to match the Ultima's time. Fairly, the Ultima was also fitted with slicks, resulting in the same vehicle, with the same driver, improving by nearly 4 seconds per lap, approximately 1:09... this lap time needs no comment and clearly speaks for itself.

Take your time to think about whether you might be one of the few people capable of driving such a vehicle both skillfully and mentally. In the meantime, we are making the Ultima a bit more attractive and waiting for better temperatures and road conditions to shoot a series of photos with it.

Currently, we find 4 offered vehicles in Europe, none of which are left-hand drive Can Am Spiders, let alone with road approval.

By the way, for your information - we have the identical and similarly configured vehicle in Kawasaki green. (see photos) Its mileage is 6600 km. Otherwise, it is almost 1:1 identical.
