Boat Overview

REVELATION is hull number two of the highly regarded Swordsman 30. Originally commissioned by an accomplished yachtsman, she serves as a refined Solent weekender and sporting run-about. Now available for sale by her third careful owner, she is in excellent order. She has benefited from regular servicing by the engine manufacturer’s main agent and ongoing maintenance by the original builder’s engineer.

Significantly, REVELATION was used during the trials programme prior to the Swordsman 30 being awarded Traditional Boat of the Year 2007, showcasing her pedigree and performance. Based on Alan Burnard’s legendary Fairey Spearfish deep-V hull, this modern interpretation offers a notably drier, quieter, and more capable ride than the original, enhanced by an uprated Iveco 440hp diesel and Hamilton waterjet drive.

Superbly equipped for coastal cruising and long weekends, she comfortably sleeps four. The generous cockpit is ideal for entertaining. Features such as a bow thruster, diesel heating, electric windlass, and full cockpit enclosure make her well-suited for extended seasons afloat. Lightly used and privately owned, this is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the finest examples of this iconic British design.

Owner's Comments

"I am very sad to be selling Revelation and only doing so because of an unexpected relocation too far from the water. Whoever has the pleasure of owning her next will no doubt love, as I did, the flexibility of a boat that never felt too big for a river potter (I had her on the Thames for a bit) but could also do a longer sea voyage. She is always the best-looking boat around, commanding waves of envy! And to sailors the intrigue is the jet propulsion - fantastic and exciting to drive (a show off amount of manoeuvrability!).

I thought she would be a long-term fixture in my life, so I have looked after her superbly, got some new equipment, and she is all set to go for many happy engine hours ahead. I will never regret following my dream to buy a boat – Revelation has bought joy-filled life-enhancing experiences and memories from picnics to swimming in coves to learning new skills to unforgettable day trips with friends. As I always say – life is better on the water…"

Broker's Comments

"REVELATION represents a rare opportunity to acquire an early, highly specified example of the Swordsman 30, a modern classic with impeccable pedigree.

Lightly used, superbly maintained and thoughtfully upgraded, she is superbly equipped throughout. The addition of a bow thruster makes her exceptionally manoeuvrable, even in tight marina conditions. In addition to a spray hood, she benefits from a full cockpit enclosure, protecting the cockpit year-round and helping to keep the boat in pristine condition. An outstanding coastal cruiser, REVELATION combines refined performance with genuine heritage appeal."

Fairey Marine And Swordsman Marine

"The Legend Rekindled"

The most sought-after power boat of the 1960s was undoubtedly the Fairey Boat. A list of owners sounds like a who's who of one of the most exciting and innovative decades of British design; Sir Max and Lady Violet Aitken, Tommy Sopwith, actress Deborah Kerr, band-leader Billy Cotton and many others all owned at least one and a number of Fairey boats featured in the James Bond film "From Russia With Love".

Fairey boats combined comfort with spacious accommodation; a renowned seaworthiness with handling qualities second to none; and delivered performance, courtesy of the deep-V planing hull, such that the cruiser classes of numerous Cowes-Torquay and London-Monte Carlo races were successfully campaigned by Fairey boats.

Fairey Marine's designer was Alan Burnard, and today his proven hull design from the Fairey Spearfish forms the basis of the Swordsman 30.
