1914 Barge 20m Steilsteven Dutch Barge
Steilsteven 20m Dutch Barge for Sale with Thames Mooring
'Aquae Sulis' is a well maintained example of a traditional aft cabin barge offered for sale with a transferable Thames mooring with full marina facilities. 'AS' benefits from her topsides having been recently repainted and presents extremely well for a turn of the century barge. A copy of her 2019 out of water survey is available upon request with current BSC.
Accommodation consists of a good sized aft, en-suite double cabin with a central island double bed, basin with hot and cold water plus electric WC connected to 1 of 2 holding tanks. The bow cabin consists of two single berths located on the port and starboard sides with a small seating area in fore peak with an escape/ventilation hatch above. Moving aft there is a reception hallway with storage and hanging space to port, plus a useful office space on the starboard side. Adjacent to this is the main WC/Shower room also with hot and cold water plus a separate shower cubicle and an electric WC connected to the second holding tank. The main saloon and galley are centrally located with an open plan layout which is both light and bright from her windows and overhead hatch. The wheelhouse has port and starboard side stable type doors with an aft bench seat. The collapsible wheel house roof and windows bring her air draft down to only 2m when required.
The main items in her inventory consist of a generator, inverter, Kabola hydronic radiator heating system, hydraulic bow thruster (requires attention), rudder indicator, plus 12v/24v and 240 volt services, 2 portable air conditioners, washing machine.
All in all, Aquae Sulis is ideally equipped for extended nights aboard and has a great appeal for extended cruising due to her low air draft. She also benefits from not requiring Es-trin certification for use in the European waterways as her cubic measurement is well below the threshold.
Sensibly priced to sell asking £159,000. Viewing by appointment only
