Vehicle description (by seller)

MASERATI QUATTROPORTE 4.2 Series I

The Maserati Quattroporte Series I was produced from 1963 to 1970 with a total of 776 units. The famous Italian designer Pietro Frua designed this masterpiece. Maserati offered this - for its time - the fastest limousine in the world in two versions: a newly designed 8-cylinder engine with 4.2 liters displacement and 260 HP, as well as the high-end version with 4.7 liters and 290 HP. Paired with the reliable ZF 5-speed transmission, this sports limousine was capable of top speeds beyond 230 km/h. All conceivable luxury features were standard on the 4.2-liter version, such as disc brakes all around, a lot of chrome, fantastic Smith instruments, electric windows, beautiful toggle switches, high-quality very comfortable leather seats, a leather headliner, etc. The famous owners of the Quattroporte included Marcello Mastroianni, Aga Khan, Prince Rainer of Monaco, and Anthony Quinn.

The Maserati Quattroporte offered here was first delivered in the color oro andalusia to Switzerland. There was a change of owner there, and the vehicle has been deregistered for over 20 years. One of the previous owners painted the vehicle in a green shade, which in our opinion was not an original Maserati color.

Currently, this Quattroporte is with the company Scartapatti in Mantova, Italy. This company recently restored our silver, multiple award-winning Maserati Quattroporte (see). Now, Scartapatti is restoring the bodywork of this vehicle, renewing the chrome, and will paint it in its original color. The interior will be renewed by the company Maeli in Italy, with great emphasis on the original materials, i.e., the new leather isexactly the type of leather that was also used in Maserati's Quattroporte of that time. The same applies analogously to the carpets. We will completely overhaul the engine and transmission in our own workshop. This Quattroporte is completely "matching" and has never been in an accident.

Only for enthusiasts who truly appreciate such a unique and historically significant vehicle.
