This Mercedes coupe, designed under the leadership of Paul Bracq, today appears as if carved from a block of Carrara marble, straight-lined and unadorned. Autoklassik described the appearance of the Mercedes Benz introduced in 1968 in this way. Many technical innovations found their place in this vehicle, with the suspension featuring a trailing arm rear axle being a notable example. Frameless, fully retractable side windows, gently tapering C-pillars, continuous trim strips along the sides, and a rear bumper that extends around the rear wheel arches cleverly elongate the two-door. The 2.8-liter engine was responsible for a robust 185 HP, allowing for very agile driving. The 4-speed manual transmission operates harmoniously and is perfectly tuned for this coupe.

On April 25, 1973, the Mercedes Benz 280 CE/8 offered here was first registered in France. According to the last owner, there have been only two ownership changes throughout its life. Equipped with original black leatherette interior, yellow fog lights, and an original radio, this Mercedes impresses with its good overall condition. The underbody has been completely cleaned by us, and minor rust spots have been removed. The underbody will be resealed, and the vehicle will be fully restored.
