The MG TC Midget, built between 1945 and 1949, marked MG's triumphant return after World War II. Despite a buyer's market – both in the UK and abroad – the TC prevailed. MG quickly celebrated successes and produced over 10,000 units – more than three times any previous MG model.

Powered by a 1,250 cc four-cylinder OHV engine, coupled with a four-speed gearbox, the TC delivered 54 HP (32 kW) and accelerated its lightweight chassis of only 787 kg to an impressive top speed of 120 km/h – not for the faint-hearted. With its charm, agile handling, and sporty character – by the standards of the time – the TC played a key role in the British sports car boom in the USA and beyond.

This special example, chassis number TC/0527, likely still has the original engine (XPAG 1309) and apparently spent most of its life in Australia. The earliest traceable history begins in 1996 with Brian J. Hemmings, who sold the car in April of the same year to Andrew House – both names are documented in a purchase contract accompanying the vehicle.

Most of the available invoices date from the time of Andrew House. A handwritten note from him adds an interesting facet to the story: the car was extensively restored in the 1980s (photo documentation available) and previously belonged to Mr. Gordon Cameron Davis, who passed away in December 1984.

In July 2001, House sold the TC for 23,000 AUD toJohn Firth-Smith – again with proper documentation. In June 2002, the car was shipped from the company Vintage Cars GmbH (Herdecke, 58212) to Germany and officially registered in October 2004. A copy of the original vehicle registration document confirms the import date (28.10.2004) and names Ms. B Kals as the new owner.

Her ownership was brief: In December 2005, she sold the MG to its last German owner – documented by a handwritten purchase agreement. This passionate enthusiast kept the vehicle for two decades until his death in summer 2025. His dedication is reflected in the extensive collection of invoices and meticulous records. In the last ten years, the car has been driven with red license plates (dealer plates), regularly driven, and lovingly maintained.

Now, this charming MG TC is for sale for the first time in decades – with a fresh TÜV inspection and an exceptionally well-documented international history. A rare opportunity to acquire a genuine post-war original with character, history, and irresistible charm.
