This Lagoon 42 Owners Version, Koumata, from 2023 is a well-equipped and meticulous maintained cruising catamaran, ready to set sail. The Lagoon 42 has become the brand’s best-selling model for good reason: she’s spacious enough for comfortable liveaboard life yet remains easily handled by a couple. Her wide teak-laid transoms and expansive cockpit immediately convey a sense of openness and volume. The cockpit, fully covered by the composite bimini, offers the perfect setting for relaxed alfresco dining, while the raised helm station to port, just three steps from the cockpit, ensures excellent visibility and easy communication with the rest. Under sail, Koumata performs beautifully with her fully battened square-top mainsail, furling genoa, and gennaker on a furler. Her twin Yanmar 57 hp engines with folding propellers deliver reliable performance under power. She is furthermore fitted with a generator, inverter, water maker, battery charger, covers and enclosures. A three-panel glass door connects the aft cockpit to the main saloon of this 42ft cat. Forward, an inviting L-shaped sofa wraps around the dining table, which comfortably seats six to eight guests. The starboard hull is dedicated entirely to the private owner’s suite, featuring a generous island double berth aft, a desk area amidships with bookshelves, settee, and ample storage, and a luxurious bathroom forward with electric toilet and separate shower.
