****** COMPLETE OVERHAUL IN 2023 ******
**** INCLUDING NEW ENGINES, TUBES, UPHOLSTERY AND ELECTRONICS ****
RIBs for Sale are seriously excited to introduce this awesome Rayglass Protector 8.5 RIB, recently fitted with new Suzuki DF200 drive-by-wire engines. Having recognised how brilliant the Protector 850 RIB, the previous owner bought this RIB and painstakingly and meticulously went through all the systems and upgraded and renewed them. Even the tubes have been replaced by Heshaws, who in turn ensured that the set they made was fitting for a boat of this calibre.
The original hull was laid up in 2004 to a commercial specification, and since the boats purchase in 2022, the current owner has completed the following works...
- Two new Suzuki DF200 engines with drive-by-wire, push button stop/start, and coupled to SeaStar Electro-hydraulic power steering.
- New tubes made by Henshaws to extremely high standard.
- New Bow thruster and controls.
- New electronics from Garmin including dual plotters with sounders, new iCom VHF, new radome, new transducer, and new Fusion Music system.
- New sea toilet
- New canvasses
- New switch gear, including new solenoid type isolators for easy system activation from inside cabin.
- New batteries.
The layout of this Protector comprises of an open bow area, a large hatch which moves you into the spacious cabin space, the out into the rear cockpit area which is a very comfortable space to helm the boat and enjoy relaxing when you are at rest. The helm seat and the forward-facing port-side seat can be dropped down to allow you to stand in bigger sea-states. The helm has a variety of electronics at hand to make sure you have all the information required, even on longer passage making. Driving is a dream with the new Suzuki engines and hydraulic power-steering from SeaStar.
Protectors are renowned for their poise, comfort and dependability when the going gets a bit tough. This is down to the heavily laid-up GRP hull and the well-designed "deep V" hull. They can fulfil many roles and would be at home as an all-round family RIB or a Commercial platform working in more abrasive conditions.
This Protector need to be seen!!
