S/V Rainbow’s End Overview

S/V Rainbow’s End is now on the market! She is a very unique upgraded vessel, there is none like it! This 1992 Owners Version Escale 39’ custom Prout was built in South Africa by the owner of Prout Boats. The Prout Escale has a solid reputation as a reliable and seaworthy liveaboard for offshore cruising. Prouts were reputedly the first and for many years the only catamarans that met Lloyd’s of London standards. This particular vessel has many different features than the typical production models such as the stern configuration with the upsized davits, bolted on steps, ladder and folding swim platform which allows for even more interior storage than similar models.

Interior and Comfort

On the interior and exterior there is an enormous amount of storage. The beautiful teak interior with teak and holly floors throughout is spacious with 6’2” of headroom and a comfortable layout. This layout has 2 separate sleeping cabins with 2 separate heads with showers, the portside also has a bathtub. The galley is equipped with a 2-burner propane stove with oven, two faucets for the double sinks (1 for saltwater and 1 for fresh water) and a water filtration system. There is a Pur water maker. There is a separate built-in freezer that runs on 230v as well as a 12v refrigerator with new 2” insulation. For more comfort there are also 2 Marine Ocean Breeze air conditioners on board. All the upholstery is hand woven Mayan depicting customary fabric patterns from upland villages. Also the salon table is unique with fold-out leaves and storage underneath.

Upgrades

S/V Rainbow’s End has been given many special upgrades such as: a custom fiberglass dodger, cockpit enclosure (custom hard top with Isinglass inserts) with rainwater catchment drains above the water tank fills, and a full boat storage cover only 10 months old. The deck has been upgraded, (balsa core removed and upgraded with Nydacore), there is absolutely no soft spots on the deck, the deck by the windlass is solid fiberglass with epoxy.
