THE SLOCUM 43, NAMED FOR JOSHUA SLOCUM - the first person to single hand a sailboat around the world - is a sturdy cruisier built in a modern style. ACOMMODATIONS & WALKTHROUGH"Trouvaille" features a large, custom, King Sized Vee Berth with plenty of storage. A big hanging locker at the entry plus cabinet and shelves on starboard provide a place for nearly everything. Teak ceiling strips against the hull sides give a warm and elegant feel to the cabin. Natural light is provided by verhead screened hatch and opening port as well as 2 overhead and 2 reading lights.
The Head follows featuring a shower stall, sink plus Purasanes Electric Commode with 12v light and fan. The Saloon has a beautiful circualar table to port with a straight settee across on starboard. A bulkhead hung Toshiba Television makes this space great for relaxing or entertaining. There are cabinets and shelves above the settee and table. A large teak hatch with screen plus fixed ports provide good lighting and a 12v Fan for ventilation make the saloon comfortable. Next aft is the forward facing Nav Station with shelves and cabinets to store all of your "stuff" and the Electric Panel above within easy reach and includes Magnum Monitor, Stereo, Standard Horizon VHF, Generator Panel, plus... storage cubbys. The "U" shaped Galley is across on port with a Hillerange Stove/oven, double sink, hot/cold pressure fresh and raw water faucets, front and top loading Refrigerator and a Little Litton Microwave. Lots of Drawers, Cabinets, and Shelves provide great storage. The Companionway is on-center with 4 steps up to cockpit. There is still more storage under the bottom 2 steps. A smaller but comfy Quarter Berth on starboard with cabinet and shelving along hull side. An opening Hatch and 2 Ports provide ventillation.
The Slocum 43 is a very comfortable yacht with plenty of elbow room, ventillation and storage for real cruising comfort!!!!!
