In the seller's own words ...
“Set Free” is an impeccable example of the very popular Catalina 42MkII. The boat is unbelievably clean with spotless upholstery & a dry, clean bilge. The boat has enjoyed wonderful stewardship with maintenance logs, meticulous maintenance, ample records & improvement projects. The Catalina 42 MkII design boasts a large, welcoming cockpit, & “Set Free’s cockpit is enclosed with a Strataglass dodger, a full Eisenglass enclosure with a sunshade screen option for versatility. The two-cabin, two-head layout provides separate accommodation for guests, & a large convertible dining settee allows for sleeping arrangements for up to six people. The yacht is extremely versatile with the room of a larger vessel but with surprising ease of handling. “Set Free” is a comfortable cruiser that is outfitted for extended cruising & short-handed sailing with all lines leading to the cockpit, a 600-Watt solar array, & a water maker that permits off-grid passage making. “Set Free” is a turn-key vessel just waiting for the next adventure.
Stepping down below through the Zarcor companionway doors, sturdy substantial steps carry you down into the spacious salon. To port is a large ultra-suede dining settee with room for six around the table. To starboard is the nav station with a swivel out chair and ample storage in the settee just aft. Moving forward is the private master cabin with queen sized Pullman berth to port. Over-sized drawers pull out from underneath the berth and a cedar-lined hanging locker and additional drawer storage is to port. The master cabin head and shower are located all the way forward with a separate shower with bench seat and a full sized freshwater marine head.
The L-shaped galley is to port aft of the salon. The galley boasts a large double stainless steel sink and expandable hose faucet. The three burner propane stove has a cover to align flush with the ample Corian counter tops. There is a deep top-loading refrigerator and separate freezer. A fold-up counter extension can be raised to increase cooking space for culinary enthusiasts. Farther aft is ample, deep storage areas and access to the AGM batteries. The companionway stairs fold forward for ample engine access and coupled with the side engine access panels permit near 360* engine access. Aft and to starboard is the access to the aft cabin that features an oversized queen berth. An opening hatch and ports create an airy space with ample access to a hanging locker and drawers. The guest head may be accessed from the salon or the aft cabin and features Corian counter tops, a mirror, storage, a shower and a freshwater marine head.
