We are pleased to introduce PENROSE, a Lobster 35 built by Cantieri Gagliotta. Powered by Mercury diesels rated at 270 hp each, PENROSE cruises at 26 kts and has a range of around 250 miles. Her deep V hull design and SeaKeeper 2 ensure a smooth, dry ride while lounging in a choice of multiple areas aboard. An upholstered tanning area is on the bow or a U-shaped seating area is found aft in the cockpit, where a convertible table can convert the seating to a flush lounging surface. The outdoor galley is close by, behind the helm seating, and well-appointed, air-conditioned sleeping accommodations and a full head are forward. PENROSE is the perfect platform for relaxation and luxurious entertaining on the water.
PENROSE, the 2024 Lobster 35 built by Cantieri Gagliotta, is a beautiful Italian vessel built with reliable American systems. Her Mercury diesel engines provide a cruise speed of 26 knots and a top end of over 30 knots. Her dry, quiet, comfortable ride and a range of around 250 miles make Bahamas trips a breeze from South Florida. Stabilization is enhanced by a SeaKeeper 2. Shore power comes from a 30 amp cord and she runs on a diesel generator or inverter while off the dock. There’s plenty of refrigerated storage, an ice maker, cooktop and sink, as well as a comfortable bed and head below in the air-conditioned cabin. The Lobster 35 has loads of room for entertaining and a tanning pad on the bow. The U-shaped seating in the cockpit surrounds a table which can be used at multiple levels. It lies flush with the deck when down and can be raised to cocktail or dining height. There is also a setting which provides a base for a filler cushion to make the entire area a sun pad.
The fully equipped helm has a two-person seat with a flip-up forward section for a standing position or when flipped down, a comfortable seated position. A full-function Garmin unit is within easy reach in the upper section of the dash pod and a smaller Mercury display lies just over the tiltable steering wheel. Bow thruster control and trim tabs are close as well. In comfortable arms’ reach outboard are the engine controls for throttle, gears and multiple other options and the joystick is forward of that. This vessel has a very comfortable driving position with excellent sight lines. To port is bench seating and above is a sunroof. While running, the three-sided house keeps a nice, calm pressure allowing one to feel the air conditioning from the lower cabin.
Aft of the helm seat and within the same module is a galley area with a cooktop, sink and refrigerator, as well as storage. The cooktop and sink lie beneath a hinged teak counter. This area is covered by the aft end of the hardtop.
Just aft of the protection of the hard top is U-shaped seating with storage beneath the side seats and engine room access beneath the aft section. A table on an electric lift lies flush in the teak deck until needed for the before-mentioned functions. Cockpit cushions can be arranged in multiple ways depending on the mission of the boat. The center aft section of the seating is covered in the same teak as the deck, so when not covered with a cushion, it provides a convenient step to get over the transom to another teak-covered step leading to the teak-covered swim platform. On the forward side of the seating is a clever cocktail table that unfolds from the wall, between the forward and aft seating on the port side.
Down a few stairs behind a sliding door from the helm area is the large, air-conditioned cabin and head. A filler cushion converts a V berth to a large double berth. Seating lies aft of the berths on both sides, including a hanging locker and open shelving containing the electrical panel. On the starboard side, behind beautiful leather wall panels is the full head. This vessel is extremely comfortable for extended weekend trips for two.
Accessible from the side decks on either side of the house is a large tanning area on top of the cabin, which is upholstered with the same material as the helm and cockpit cushions. A windlass and cleats are forward.
