Boat Overview

The Rapier 550 is built using Carbon and E-glass infused epoxy, making it light and fast. It looks good and has a proven cruising speed of 15 knots or more. On passage, 200 mile days are easily achievable in a relaxed way.

Helm and Interior Features

The internal helm position offers safety and control without equal - no need to sit out in an exposed helm position on the transom or sit on the roof. Although external carbon tillers are also provided and fully functional for that hands-on feeling and adrenaline rush. The huge opening windows of the saloon ensure that the Rapier 550 can always be matched to the weather conditions in which the boat is sailed.

The interior of the Rapier 550 is designed for an owner couple and visiting friends to share a safe and exhilarating sail when the weather conditions suit but to always enjoy the space and comfort of a luxury catamaran under sail or at anchor. The three cabin layout of this boat has en-suite facilities together with an enormous open-air saloon which can be opened up or closed in as the skipper prefers.

Underway, the connection between the galley and the saloon means that the crew can enjoy wonderful dining without compromise in complete control and safety. At anchor, the sliding windows and doors and opening roof bring the outside in and offer the most comfortable outside sitting space available on any catamaran of this size.

Upgrades and Refits

• Bearings and bushings
• 220sqm Parasailor
• 2 x large Raymarine Axiom screens
• Radar and AIS
• Starlink
• 2x epirus
• Liferaft was also serviced

Recent Travels

The owners made the trip successfully and cruised the Caribbean and Bahamas. Blue Wonder is now back from this circuit where the second part of the refit has been finished including:

• New windlass motor and gearbox
