PERSONAL NOTES
AP introduced the Royal Oak in 1972 and it was the first luxury steel watch with a integrated bracelet. Priced at a level or above gold watches, it was unkown whether it would be a success. However, the watch quickly gained popularity and the first 2000 examples was sold out. So AP made additional watches in the B and C Series. This particular example comes from the C Series, but notabl features a dial with “AP” located above the 6 o`clock position. This dial was found on the A Series watches and some were placed on B and C Series watches. The colour of the tropical dial is spectacular! In the sunlight you will find 100 different shades of brown on the dial. I never saw a nicer tropical dial than that one! The watch comes with the full set!
An absolutly iconic watch!
