Porsche 964 CUP Frame-off Restoration / H-approval

We have completely rebuilt the cup, from the bodywork. The engine was fully overhauled. The transmission was also completely refurbished. The total restoration costs amount to nearly €183,000, using only original parts. The vehicle was also registered for road use, including H-approval.

For the Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cup, everything unnecessary for weight was initially removed. The rear emergency seats and the passenger seat were removed, and all insulation material was omitted. To improve vehicle stability and safety, a roll cage and a front strut brace were installed. The 3.6-liter 6-cylinder engine with dual ignition, known from the Porsche 964 Carrera, produced 265 HP in the Cup version due to modified ignition electronics and a changed exhaust system. Additionally, the race car received a new suspension with shorter and stiffer springs, as well as adjustable anti-roll bars. The negative camber was increased to enable higher cornering speeds.

Despite this race-oriented equipment, the vehicle has German road approval and can be used on public roads without issue. The first Porsche brand cup was held in 1990 with the legendary Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cup. Only 50 race cars were produced for the first season. This racing series soon achieved great success, not only in Germany. Today, the Porsche Carrera Cup is the most well-known and popular brand racing series worldwide.
