Boat Description

The Vancouver 38 Pilot was the largest of the Vancouver Pilot House range of yachts built by Northshore, building on the success of the Vancouver 34. With her heavy displacement and deep hull sections, and three double cabins, two heads, and elevated deck saloon, the Vancouver 38 has proven to be an ideal long-distance offshore cruising yacht; striking a great balance between comfort and safety offshore and spacious below decks accommodation.

Ownership and Usage

With just her 2nd owner since leaving the factory, FREYCINET has been based on the west coast of Scotland since 2004, under the current ownership. Enjoying cruises as far north as Shetland and Orkney, she has proven to be comfortable and capable, even with a short-handed crew. The cutter rig with self-tacking staysail provides a flexible sail plan which isn’t over demanding on the crew. Now offered for sale as her owner retires from sailing, her inventory highlights include:

  • Original gelcoat finish to topsides
  • Laid teak decks
  • Yanmar 4JH 3E, 56hp marine diesel engine
  • Sterling Marine Power Universal 4-Step alternator booster
